Summer Must-Haves
Hello dollies!!!
Today I decided to do a few posts about some products I love to use for summer.
1.) You will definitely need a waterproof eyeliner that will stay in place while you enjoy yourself at the beach.
I recommend Urban Decay’s line of 24/7 glide-on eye pencils. My favorite color is Electric. It’s a bright,
sparkly blue that can brighten up your eye quickly when you’re on the go. I bouthgt it from sephora for about $17. Also, another bright (and pretty much waterproof) eyeliner I recommend is Jordana’s Easyliner. It’s a retractable pencil that comes in a variety of colors, and glides on just like Urban Decay’s line of 24/7 liners, but its cheaper. You can purchase one at your local drug store for about $2 each.
2.) Lip balms are important. They are used to keep the moisture locked in your lips and prevent them from damage while you spend your summer in the heat. I recommend that you use a balm with SPF in it, so that you can protect your lips from UV damage. But, as of now, I’m LOVING C.O. Bigelow’s Rose Salve. I bought it from Bath & Body Works for about $5, and its lasted me about 9 months so far, and I still have lots more left. It smells AMAZING and keeps my lips moisturized throughout the day. C.O. Bigelow also has a collection of many lip balms and glosses that I LOVE. Check them out at cobigelow.com.
3.) To create different simple summer looks, you’ll need a neutral shadow palette, and a few bright colors to make eyes pop! Any neutral palette is fine, but you don’t have to splurge. Milani has a plethora of neutral palettes with rich, baked eyeshadows that are very pigmented. I used Milani’s Sedona Sunset palette, which you cann purchase at any drug store for a low price. But there are also a few MAC colors this summer that could brighten up your collection. One of my favorites is Goldenrod, which is a matte yellow color that’s perfect for the summer months! You can also visit maccosmetics.com to find bright eyeshadows from their summer collection.
4.) To top off your waterproof collection, you’ll need a waterproof mascara so that your mascara won’t melt off of your face while at the pool or the beach. Most of our favorite mascaras are made waterproof…so find your favorite, and then buy the waterproof version. One of my favorites (although I’m not qute sure if there is a waterproof version) is Maybelline’s One by One Volume Express mascara. It’s AHHH-MAZING!
5.) The last product you’ll need to look sunkissed is a bronzer or highlighter. Apply the bronzer directly under your cheekbones and draw back towards your temple to get a sculpted look. Your highlighter should go right on your cheekbones, also stretching back toward your temples. I tend to not really use a bronzer, but I do use a highlighter. It’s called Liquid Candlelight by Laura Geller. You can purchase it from Sephora.
Top off your summer look with a neutral lip gloss or a nude matte lipstick and you’re all set!

Summer Skin Issues: Dryness
In summer (and winter) months, the weather extremes can take a toll on your skin. The reason for this is that your skin must adjust to the extreme conditions, and can do that by producing oil to quench itself. If you have oily skin and contuinually try to rid your face of that oil, your skin can become severely dry. I recommend exfoliating in the morning, and then moisturizing with a face sunscreen or light moisturizer to keep yor skin quenched. But, when you exfoliate, don’t do so for too long, and try not to scrub too hard. This should keep summer skin blues at bay!
Questions??? Submit them at the top right of the page after clicking on the pencil.
P.S.-I’ll post photos a little later

Summer Skin Savvy Sunscreen!
Summer Skin Summit Tip #1- ALWAYS use a sunscreen on your face (and body) to protect you from the sun’s harmful UV rays. My personal favorite is a face sunscreen from Aveeno! It’s SPF 30 for those days that you don’t wear foundation. But, if you’d like to wear foundation, there are many brands on the market that come with UV ray protection. I use MAC’s Studio Fix Fluid, which comes with SPF15 in it, so you’re protected anytime!
